WISE Mission, Vision, Objectives and Path
To ensure the survival and prosperity of life on Earth, we must transform our values and systems to prioritize Nature, embracing a paradigm shift that places the health of our biosphere at the forefront of all decisions.
Climate Change, biodiversity loss, and ecosystem collapse are considered by global authorities [1] to be the greatest existential threats to the world over the next 10 years and beyond, along with government, business, and societal failures to mitigate and adapt to them [2].
The data are clear. Nearly 72% of planetary vital signs tracked annually by the Alliance of World Scientists (AWS) and other global authorities [1] have reached “record levels”[3] and the AWS concludes “much of the very fabric of life on Earth is imperiled” [3], leading to profound ecological and societal consequences ironically caused by human activities [1]. Importantly, climate change, biodiversity loss, and ecosystem collapses are also “inextricably connected with each other and human futures”[4]. Therefore, there is another crisis lost in the complexity of this discourse: the human welfare crisis.

Yet it is the climate, biodiversity and ecosystem crises that we have all created that are deteriorating our own welfare. This includes more than half of the world’s projected population (5.4 billion people) suffering high or extreme water stress by 2040, 3.5 billion people suffering food insecurity by 2050, and uninhabitable regions for up to one third or more (39%) of the population within Gen Z’s lifetime by 2080 – all leading to increased civil unrest, competition and wars over scarce resources along with approximately 1.2 billion environmental refugees as soon as 2050 due to these and other problems from the climate, biodiversity and ecosystem crises caused by all of us [2],[5],[6],[7].
Enabling our biosphere to function and endure in the greatest possible health for life and society to exist and flourish requires transformation to a Nature-centric paradigm and value system. We must radically evolve ourselves away from anthropocentrism into a higher way of being. The welfare of the biosphere and, therefore all people, our society, and life on Earth depend on all of us.

“Integration” in this context means that Nature-centrism is fully mainstreamed within our value, socio-economic, governing, legal, political, education, industrial and other systems. In other words, Nature and all of its biodiversity, are primary stakeholders, an integral part of our daily lives, and accorded intrinsic value, legal rights and top priority in all decisions, policies, laws, choices, and actions in which they would be directly or indirectly impacted.
So, just like all business decisions are balanced to improve the financial bottom line and minimize negative impact(s) on it, our vision is that all decisions across society would require the same for the environmental bottom line as an integral part of our policies, laws, and actions driven by Nature-centric core values, attitudes, beliefs, and behaviors in each of us and our society. This includes a Nature-centered global ethic, constitution, Bill of Rights and shared responsibility, restoration and preventative care system for the biosphere.
Quite simply, life on Earth depends on this...on us. The science and socio-economic realities are clear: This is a fundamental need for humanity, our society, and all life on Earth to exist, endure and flourish into the future.

WISE Objectives

WISE is addressing the climate, biodiversity, and ecosystem crises via three primary “V.I.P.” objectives, with the goal of just, equitable and scientifically-informed wise integration of society and the environment (WISE) with 100% ecological sustainability:

-
Values:
-
Fundamentally transform societal values and systems to Nature-centrism.

-
Integration:

-
Just, equitable embedding of Nature-centric values, constitutions, and policy, legal, governing, educational, socio-economic, and decision-making frameworks across cultures, nations and society.

-
Green technology innovation fully ameliorating climate change, biodiversity loss, species extinctions, and environmental damage with 100% ecologically sensitive, sustainable and sound human living, etc.
-
Equinomics [8] and a Green Closed-Loop Circular Economy.

-
Global Green Education (K-university curriculum, public advocacy, etc.)

-
Nature-centric governance at organizational, community, national and international levels.
-
Supra-organizational partnerships focused on Nature-centric work around the world.

-
Preservation:

-
Advance the Half-Earth and Nature Needs Half paradigms, Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD), United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), World Conservation Congress Motion 101, and other global targets, including via restoration, rewilding, community-based conservation, National Biodiversity Strategy and Action Plans (NBSAP), Nationally Determined Contributions (NCD), and other Nature-based Solutions.

WISE Path
1) Value Transformation
We is applying the WISE Approach [8] to embed and mainstream Nature-centrism within society.
In brief, this Approach is based on a new evidence-based systems framework and theory of change to shift society’s value systems (e.g., social, economic, governing, industrial, education, etc.) to non-monetized Nature-centric values and create pro-environmental behavior and humanity’s communal responsibility for and Bond with Nature on a global level.
In essence, it is a global green transformation that will lead to national and international Nature-centric policies, actions, laws, constitutions, and technological innovations as well as enduring responsibility, stewardship, and protection of Nature.
2) Personal and Public Action
History proves that the most successful and transformative advancement is when individuals and society are informed, sincerely engaged, and proactively creating the change we need. Therefore, WISE is leading, partnering with, and advancing global movements and Calls-to-Action to empower value and paradigm shifts in society’s governing, policy, education, socio-economic, legal, industrial and other systems to create a healthier, just and equitable world.

3) Leading Edge Conservation, Restoration, and Integration
WISE believes that it must be proactive in setting the highest standards and best practices in conservation, restoration and integration of Nature and society. Therefore, WISE is creating, implementing, and ensuring the success of the most innovative solutions and projects in these fields around the world.
4) Innovative Policies, Applications, Solutions, and Technologies
Through proactive engagement with global leaders, experts, policy-makers and civil society, WISE is facilitating, producing and nurturing collaborative real-world partnerships, applications and solutions, leading-edge green technologies, legally-binding multilateral treaties and policies, and scientifically-informed educational platforms, best practices, etc. along with the expertise to implement them.

The WISE vision is for each of us,
individually and collectively,
to revolutionize our relationship with the Earth.
We envision transforming the climate, biodiversity and human welfare crises
into opportunities
for a healthier, just and equitable world.
Our vision is to radically transform the world
and wisely (i.e., scientifically informed) integrate society and the environment
with 100% ecological sustainability (WISE).

WISE serves the world as a catalyst of global change. Our mission is to weave Nature-centrism into the fabric of society and radically transform humanity to create a healthier, just and equitable world for all its inhabitants.

Our goal is to create the most cutting-edge innovations to transform the climate, biodiversity and human welfare crises into opportunities for a Nature-centric world and restore, conserve and integrate Nature in Society with 100% ecological sensitivity and sustainability.
